Everyone loves the smell of crisp autumn New York State air when the clematis vine blooms and the asters glow in the afternoon sun. But, an Autumn Flowering Desert is something special to behold. It doesn't happen every year. The conditions have to be just right or September and October can be a burnt out dusty mess. Unexpected rain made some growers very happy and others sobbed over the blossom end rot it caused on pomegranates, melons and the like. For now . . . the Rio Grande River is no longer a minor trickle. Rarely seen Passion Vines are boasting magnificent flowers bigger than pink Spalding Balls, happily embedded with bees, requiring a great deal of patience to have a photo without them crammed in massive clusters. Enjoy the following slideshow with God blessed eyes. I'll be happy to read your comments, if you're moved to do so, which remain as anonymous as you choose. Thank you !
